Overview

When a product is purchased through a Lulu Buy Button or Direct Checkout Link, the order is securely processed using Stripe and it is fulfilled by Lulu.


The merchant or business selling the product has connected their Stripe account to receive the proceeds from each sale. Lulu acts as the print fulfillment partner by printing, packaging, and shipping the order directly to the merchant's customer.


This article explains how payments, production, and shipping work after the merchant places their order.


Payment Processing

Payments are securely processed through Stripe, one of the world's leading online payment platforms.

When a purchase is completed by the merchant:

  • The payment is securely processed through Stripe.
  • The merchant receives the proceeds from the sale, less applicable fees.
  • Lulu receives payment for printing and fulfilling your order.

The payment information is processed securely and is not stored by Lulu.


Printing and Fulfillment

After an order is successfully placed by the merchant, the order enters production. 

This includes:

  • Printing the product
  • Performing quality control checks
  • Packaging the order
  • Preparing the shipment
  • Providing the package to the shipping carrier

Lulu fulfills each order on demand. This means the product is printed specifically for the order rather than shipped from existing inventory.


Note: If orders have a production delays set, orders will not enter production until after the production delay is complete.


Estimated Production and Delivery Times

Production and shipping times vary depending on the product, print facility, destination country, and shipping method selected during checkout.



The estimated delivery window displayed during checkout includes both:

  • Estimated production time
  • Estimated shipping time

These timeframes are estimates based on current production capacity and carrier performance. While Lulu works to meet these estimates whenever possible, they are not guaranteed and may occasionally change due to production volume, carrier delays, customs processing, weather, or other circumstances outside of Lulu's control.


Order Status

After an order enters production, the status of the order can be viewed by the merchant in the order listing, on the Lulu Direct Channel Orders Dashboard:


1. Log into your Lulu Account.

2. Click My Stores. 

3. On the Lulu Direct Dashboard, click Channel Orders.

4. The Channel Orders page will list all orders processed through your connected sales channel. You can click orders to open them an view their order details. 


Once your order ships, the merchant's customer will receive a shipping confirmation email containing tracking information (when available for the selected shipping method).
