Overview

When a customer purchases a product through a Lulu Direct Buy Button or Direct Checkout Link, Stripe securely processes the payment, and Lulu fulfills the order.


The merchant connects a Stripe account to receive the proceeds from each sale. Lulu serves as the print fulfillment partner, printing, packaging, and shipping the order directly to the customer.


This article explains how payment processing, production, shipping, and order tracking work after a customer places an order.


Payment Processing

Stripe securely processes payments.


When a customer completes a purchase:

  • Stripe processes the payment securely.

  • The merchant receives the proceeds from the sale, less applicable fees.

  • Lulu receives payment for printing and fulfilling the order.

Lulu does not store payment information.


Printing and Fulfillment

After a customer successfully places an order, the order enters production.

The fulfillment process includes:

  • Printing the product.

  • Performing quality control checks.

  • Packaging the order.

  • Preparing the shipment.

  • Handing the package to the shipping carrier.

Lulu fulfills each order on demand. This means Lulu prints the product specifically for that order rather than shipping it from existing inventory.


Note: If you have set a production delay for your orders, they will not enter production until the delay has ended.


Estimated Production and Delivery Times

Production and shipping times vary depending on the product, print facility, destination country, and shipping method selected during checkout.



The estimated delivery window displayed during checkout includes both:

  • Estimated production time.

  • Estimated shipping time.

These time frames are estimates based on current production capacity and carrier performance. Lulu works to meet these estimates whenever possible, but delivery times are not guaranteed. Delays may occur because of production volume, carrier issues, customs processing, weather, or other circumstances outside Lulu's control.


Order Status

After an order enters production, you can view its status in the Channel Orders section of the Lulu Direct dashboard.

To view an order's status:

  1. Log in to your Lulu account.

  2. Click My Stores.

  3. On the Lulu Direct dashboard, click Channel Orders.

  4. Find the order in the list and select it to view its details.

Once the order ships, the customer will receive a shipping confirmation email with tracking information, when tracking is available for the selected shipping method.
